Over 220 human resource practitioners gathered last June 15 to learn from local and international experts in the 2nd quarter offering of CSI’s Leadership Series themed, “Leading a Learning Organization.”
The one-day forum, organized by the CSC through the Civil Service Institute, aimed to encourage participants to champion a learning environment within their organization towards their people’s growth and development. As Peter Senge aptly puts it, “a learning organization facilitates the learning of its members and continuously transforms itself.”
Dr. Alaa Garad of the Investors in People United Arab Emirates also shared his knowledge and expertise in cultivating a learning environment in the workplace.
Among local speakers present were CSC Commissioner Robert S. Martinez, Local Government Academy Executive Director Marivel C. Sacendoncillo, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Institute Officer-in-Charge Mr. Iñigo L. Regalado III, and Ms. Milalin S. Javellana, Executive Director of the Philippines — Australia Human Resource and Organisational Development Facility (PAHRODF).
The CSI Leadership Series is a learning and networking event held on a quarterly basis. It is designed to inspire government executives, directors, and managers to continually enhance their leadership effectiveness. It showcases the best practices of successful leaders and managers in both the government and the private sectors. It is based on the premise that an executive or manager has the power of influence and the capability to bring about significant impact on people and organizations especially on those they work with or whom they serve.
The 3rd quarter offer is scheduled on Sept. 21, 2016 with the theme “Risk Management and Leadership.” Interested parties may call Ms. Angela Isabel C. Arguelles of the Civil Service Institute at telephone numbers (02) 931-4182; (02) 931-7935 local 301 to 305, or email csileadershipseries@gmail.com.
